History

Appleton Christian Church is a non-denominational church located in Grand Junction, Colorado. The church started out as Redlands Christian Church, named after the Redlands area of western Grand Junction, the church's first location. It began as a "church plant" in the mid-70's, sponsored by other area Christian Churches and Intermountain Bible College. In 1994, the church relocated to the Appleton area of Grand Junction, changing its name to Appleton Christian Church in connection with that move.

Our mission is to grow fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ based on Jesus' command from Matthew 28:19-20.

Fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ:

2. Study God’s word

      (2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

3. Actively serve Christ

      (James 1:22, Galatians 6:10)

4. Encourage and support one another

      (1 Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews 10:24-25, Galatians 6:2)

5. Share the hope of Christ

      (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Peter 2:9, 1 Peter 3:15)

What We Believe

We believe in the Triune God—one God existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2; Matthew 28:19; Mark 3:16–17; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

We believe God has inspired His Word, the Bible, and as such it is infallible (Psalm 12:6; Romans 3:4; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12).

We believe Mankind, originally created good, has fallen and exists in an inherently sinful state, unable to save himself (Genesis 1:26–27, 31; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:8–9).

We believe that God became incarnate in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ (John 1:1–4; Colossians 1:19–20; Philippians 2:5–11):

* That he died on the cross and resurrected on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–8)

* That Salvation comes through Christ alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5)

* That he ascended to Heaven, and will one day return to complete the work of restoration (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Hebrews 9:27–28; Revelation 22:12)

We affirm the importance of Baptism, that it is a rightful response to faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:13, 28:19–20; Acts 2:37–38, 16:30–33).
